Can you cook in Weck jars?

Of course yes. To do this, you must use glass caps, a rubber gasket, and two clips.

If you prefer to make another type of canning such as desserts, juices, or any preserves that you do not need to cook in the jar, you can choose other types of the lid, plastic, wood, etc.

How to open weck jars?

Opening the weck jars is very simple:

  1. First, you need to make sure that the jars are not hot.
  2. Next, on a solid surface, hold your weck canning jar.
  3. Remove the retaining clips, and gently pull on the protruding tab of the rubber ring, letting some air in.

You will immediately see that the jar loses its vacuum and you can remove the glass lid effortlessly.

Can weck jars withstand the heat?

Weck jars are heat resistant and can be used in an oven, microwave, autoclave, as well as in a water bath.

They are ideal for making desserts, juices, and preserves in jars, always avoiding sudden changes in temperature.

And when you finish using it, you can also wash them in the dishwasher.
